Man ‘pretended to be mannequin’ before ‘stealing jewellery’ | World News
A man pretended to be a mannequin so he could wait inside a shopping centre after it closed to allegedly steal jewellery.
The 22-year-old man stood frozen in the window of a mall in the Polish capital of Warsaw.
He is pictured not-so-subtly holding a bag with his arm stretched out before ‘robbing the store’.
‘When he felt it was safe, he went “hunting” and robbed a jewellery stand,’ Warsaw police said.
The man, who has since been arrested, treated himself to a meal before he slipped under the shutters of the shop, Warsaw police said.
But the hungry shoplifter treated himself to a second meal, where he was captured by security.
Police said: ‘He once again stopped at the restaurant to have another meal.
‘However, his luck finally ran out on him as he was spotted and captured by security personnel.
‘It is already known that the 22-year-old has also committed thefts and burglaries in another gallery, where, after its closure, he took money from several cash registers and tried to steal other items.’
The man has been charged with burglary and theft and has been remanded in custody.
He faces up to ten years in jail.
