Biden called ‘elderly man with poor memory’ in classified records case | US News
President Joe Biden will not face charges for retaining classified documents – in part because he is a ‘well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory’, a special counsel concluded.
Special counsel Robert Hur’s damning report released on Thursday found that Biden willfully took and held classified information from his vice presidency.
But one reason Hur decided against bringing charges against Biden is that he could seem like a ‘sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory’.
‘We concluded that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter,’ wrote Hur. ‘We would reach the same conclusion even if Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president.’
