US strikes Iraq and Syria in retaliation for Jordan drone attack | US News
The US has launched airstrikes in Iraq and Syria in its first retaliatory move for the drone attack in Jordan that killed three American soldiers.
Airstrikes began against Iran-backed militants in both Middle Eastern countries on Friday, according to a Defense Department official.
The US’s strikes came five days after the drone attack on the Tower 22 base close to Jordan’s border with Iraq and Syria.
