McDonald’s roasted for charging $7.29 for Egg McMuffin | US News

A McDonald’s restaurant where an Egg McMuffin is priced at more than $7 a pop has caused a social media uproar.

‘$7.29 for one McDonald’s Egg McMuffin. What has the world come to??’ wrote Bespoke Investment Group in an X (formerly Twitter) post along with a picture of the receipt from Saturday.

‘These were 2 for $2 pretty recently.’

The receipt also showed one bacon, egg and cheese McGriddle that was charged at $7.19.

In a separate post, the Bespoke account shared that one order of hash browns cost $5.69.

The same McDonald’s restaurant charges $17.63 for an Egg McMuffin, hash browns and small coffee meal, its Uber Eats page shows. It also charges up to $3 for upgrades and additions like a fresh-cracked ’round egg’, bacon and a larger coffee.

Bespoke’s post was viewed more than 1.9million times as of Wednesday evening.
