Plane makes emergency landing after woman ‘suffers two heart attacks on board’ | World News

A flight to the UK had to make an emergency landing in Italy after a woman suffered two consecutive heart attacks, it was reported.

Cabin crew and a doctor on board rushed to give the passenger CPR after themedical episode on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened on a Novelair plane travelling from Tunis to London as it had just reached a cruising altitude over Sardinia.

The captain was forced to divert the plane and make an emergency landing some 20 minutes after takeoff.

An emergency situation was declared and the airplane began a rapid descent to Olbia Airport.

One of the passengers on board confirmed the incident to Metro.co.uk.

When the plane came to a halt, the stricken woman was taken off by paramedics.

She is thought to have remained in hospital in Italy for treatment.

Tunisian Aircraft Spotters also reported the emergency landing, adding: ‘Due to the collective efforts, the woman’s life, a Libyan citizen, was saved.

‘Accompanied by her son, she remained in Italy to receive intensive and appropriate medical care.

‘Big thanks to all Nouvelair’s crew on this flight for their professionalism.’
