Major disruption of trains to Heathrow Airport after overhead wires damaged | UK News
Rail passengers are facing major disruption this morning due to damage to electric wires.
There are reduced services on parts of the Elizabeth Line and the Heathrow Express between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5.
National Rail says passengers could face delays of up to an hour, and the disruption is set to go on throughout the rest of the morning.
Great Western Railway also said some lines are blocked between London Paddington and Reading.
Trains could be cancelled at short notice and planned timetables could be revised, National Rail warned.
A spokesman said: ‘Some lines have now reopened following damage to the overhead electric wires between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport/Reading.
‘However, whilst service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes.
‘We anticipate major disruption will continue until 12pm.’
