Morrisons worker, 34, ‘fighting for life’ after being stabbed in store | UK News
A Morrison’s worker is fighting for her life in hospital after being brutally stabbed in front of horrified customers.
The 34-year-old female employee was knifed repeatedly at the supermarket in St Helier, Jersey, by an older man who she allegedly knew.
The store has been closed until further notice, after armed police descended on the location.
Forensic experts were seen entering the shop after the stabbing, and police said the suspect left the scene shortly after.
In an updated statement on Sunday, Jersey Police said: ‘Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward following a stabbing that took place yesterday at 1.30pm at Morrisons, Castle Quay, in St Helier.
‘The 34-year-old female victim remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
‘The 55-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday afternoon remains in police custody while the investigation continues.’
