A Good Samaritan who has surprised strangers with random acts of kindness every day for the past three years has been recognised for his efforts.

Sebbie Hall, 20, has been crowned the UK’s 2023 Kind Hero and honoured with a statue near Tower Bridge in central London, after performing thousands of selfless acts.

The 6ft tall likeness depicts him in a superhero-style cape and stance, inspired by his motto, ‘kindness is my superpower’.

Since devoting his life to helping others aged 17, Sebbie has racked up a long list of good deeds – including donating 400 coats and blankets to homeless charities, gifting 800 toys to children’s homes and even using his own money to buy strangers a coffee.

He hopes to inspire others to follow his lead and has now founded his own charity, The Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation, which helps vulnerable young people.

The statue was unveiled in the capital by Mission Impossible III and Sherlock Homes star, Eddie Marsan, a patron of the Foundation.

He hailed Sebbie as a ‘huge inspiration’.

Judges were ‘absolutely overwhelmed’ by the entries, Mr Wainwright said, adding: ‘It warmed our hearts to see the sheer volume of people selflessly devoting their time and effort to fostering kindness in their communities.’
