Storm Ciaran is forecasted to batter the UK with heavy rain and blistering wind this week, following swiftly in the wake of Storm Babet.

The threat from the grim weather has led the Met Office to issue a pair of amber ‘danger to life’ warnings for wind along the entire south coast of England.

Meanwhile, in the Channel Islands, a red weather warning has been issued to people, in Jersey and Guernsey, with panic buying breaking out across the island’s stores.
