Creamfields security guard dies after incident at festival | UK News
A security guard who was injured while working at Creamfields festival last month has died, his family have announced.
The guard, who is named in the family statement as Michael, was helping to clear up after the four-day event on August 28 when the incident happened.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at the festival ground in Cheshire at around 4.50pm, and he was later reported to be fighting for his life in hospital.
It is not yet known exactly what happened to him, but the Daily Mirror reported he had suffered a serious head injury.
In a post on a Creamfields community Facebook group, a man believed to be Michael’s brother wrote: ‘As a family we regret to inform you that Michael AKA Bruno (Security Guard) passed away at 5am this morning (15/09/23) following a tragic set of unfortunate circumstances.
‘We would like to thank everyone who has called, text, and supported us over the last 2 weeks, it is appreciated.
‘As you can imagine, this is a really difficult time for us all, so we would appreciate some privacy at this time.’
Hundreds of tributes were posted beneath the message.
One person wrote: ‘He was one of the best people, a good, kind person with a huge heart & personality, he will be missed by everyone.’
Another said: ‘Have known Michael and his wife over 20 years. My deepest love and support goes out to Bruno’s wife and son.’
