Edniburgh hospital put on lockdown after man ‘stabbed on ward’ | UK News

A hospital in Edinburgh was put on lockdown after a man was allegedly stabbed on a ward last night.
Police rushed to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital at around 6.25pm yesterday evening to reports of a serious assault.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was given treatment at the scene and was later transported across the city to the Royal Infirmary hospital.
He’s understood to have been attacked on a ward, reports EdinburghLive.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Around 6.25pm on Friday, 9 February 2024, officers were called to reports of a serious assault at Tipperlinn Road, Edinburgh.
‘A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
‘He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sherriff Court on Monday, 12 February, 2024.’
