Two children arrested in Spain after Mum found dead in boot of car | World News
Two children have been arrested on suspicion of murder after their mum was found dead in the boot of her car.
The body of the 48-year-old, who has only been named so far as Silvia L G, was found gagged in her car boot at around 9pm on Wednesday.
Police discovered her body in a garage near the family home in Castro Urdiales, a town in northern Spain not far from Bilbao, and realised that the two boys were missing.
Both boys were arrested in Cotolino Park at around 2.15am today after a police search.
One is said to be under the age of 14, below the age of criminal responsibility under Spanish law, and the other is older but still a minor.
Local police and Civil Guard set up roadblocks overnight to locate the boys.
Detectives are yet to make any official comment but are expected to do so later today.
Castro Urdiales mayoress Susana Herran said this morning: ‘Our feeling is one of absolute sadness. It’s awful that things like this happen.’
She also revealed the boys’ father was at work at the time of the death.
