M25 closed after major incident in Hertfordshire | UK News
An early morning car wreck involving multiple vehicles on the M25 has shut down part of the road and seen debris strewn across four lanes.
The motorway has been shut down between junctions 22 and 25 after the serious collision.
The wreck involved multiple vehicles, but it remains unknown how many people were injured in the pile up.
Hertfordshire Police said: ‘The M25 is currently closed between junctions 22 (London Colney) and 21A (North Orbital Road/St Albans).
‘This is while emergency services deal with a serious road traffic collision. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.’
Traffic site Inrix said: ‘M25 in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident investigation work between J21A A405 North Orbital Road (St Albans) and J22 A1081 (St Albans / London Colney).
‘A van and a car collided Anticlockwise just before 04:00 but both sides are closed and are likely to stay shut until lunchtime at least.’
A forensic investigation has reportedly been launched to investigate what happened.
Just days ago, part of the M25 was closed near Watford after another car pile up.
Hertfordshire Police were called to a collision near junction 18 of the M25, according to the Watford Observer.
The motorway was shut clockwise between junctions 17 and 19, but no one was seriously injured.
