Armed police swarm Falkirk flats amid ‘ongoing incident’ | UK News

A huge squad of armed police officers have descended on a block of flats in Scotland.
Emergency services swarmed the residential building in Falkirk at around 11.30am today.
Images from the scene show swathes of police vehicles outside Corentin Court in Finistere Avenue.
Specialist firearms officers were also pictured on CCTV storming inside the high-rise block amid an ‘ongoing incident’.
The nature of the incident was not immediately confirmed by Police Scotland but one resident said they were ‘concerned’ about the lack of information.
They told the Daily Record: ‘They’ve been here for over an hour now and no one is telling us anything.
‘This block of flats is mainly filled with elderly people so it’s really quite worrying.
‘A lot of us live alone so seeing police with guns definitely makes you think something bad has happened.’
A Police Scotland spokesperson has since said: ‘We were called around 11.30am on Saturday, 3 February, to a report of a concern for a person in the Finistere Avenue area of Falkirk.
‘Officers are in attendance and there is no risk to the wider public.’
