Missing toddler’s body found in water near his home | US News

A missing 19-month-old boy was found dead in a body of water nearby his home.
The toddler, named Saylor, was reported missing by his family around noon on Thursday, according to the Chatham County Police Department.
He ‘was being cared for by family members, who notified police when they could not find him’, the police department.
Multiple units responded to the home on the 1100 block of Bob White Road in Chatham County, Georgia, due to the boy’s age and the location close to the woods and deep water, the police department said.
Marine patrol, a K-9 unit, drones, mounted patrol and chaplain services were deployed in search of the boy.
About an hour into the search, a member of the police department’s criminal investigations unit saw the toddler in the water and went in to retrieve him.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He appeared to have wandered off, police said.
No foul play is suspected.
Authorities said they do not plan on release further information on the case.
