The festive season may be over but that doesn’t mean you can’t still treat yourself, right?

In a move that’ll delight any tech head keeping abreast of the latest devices, Honor’s Magic V2 phone landed in the UK last week and you best believe the hype is hyping around this release.

To make this moment even sweeter, Honor has slashed prices on its phone for the new age – yes, we’re talking about a foldable phone here – which will see you save hundreds.

Hundreds, we tell you.

If you had your eye on a new piece of tech, foldable phones have to be top of the list, and the phone trend of 2024 just got a whole lot cheaper.

The phone is usually available for £1,699.99 however right now you can save £200 using the code AV2PR200 in an early bird special you’ll want to swoop in on.

Plus, you can get £600 worth of free gifts – from Bang & Olufsen headphones to six months screen protection, plus a Supercharge Adapter.

Are you already an Honour customer? Or a student? Then you can save another £100.

What is the Magic V2, though? Valid question. Allow us to dive in.

Firstly, we’re not talking about the classic flip phones of the noughties (is it just us or are you also getting vivid flashbacks to frog-fronted ringtones and character-limited SMS?), these foldable phones are the tech du jour for those who like a sleek and chic unit.

Plus, the Magic V2 is the world’s thinnest inward-folding phone on the market.

It’s quite bonkers, really, at 9.9mm thick when closed. Halve that when open (4.7mm) and you’ve got yourself a dinner mint of a phone that’s got a lot of gusto packed into such a slim, 231g frame.

The brand, which launched the phone in China last year, has managed to still deliver on the specs you’d expect from a smartphone, with a hefty battery life to rival non-folding phones and reviews plauding its lightweight design.

And, according to the brand, it lasts 400,000 folds. Or, unfolding and folding it 100 times a day. For 10 years. Don’t count them.

How the Honor Magic V2 stacks up

You won’t miss a detail with 1.07 billion colours bringing every moment to life, while second-generation nanocrystyal glass makes Honor’s Magic V2 ’10 times more drop-resistant’.

Handwriting capabilities on both screens only scratch the surfaces of how the phone was designed with you in mind, easily fitting in the palm of your hand when folded, but still sleek when unfolded.

Users can also take phone calls with an added element of privacy, with AI Privacy Call 2.0 adjusting to ambient noise and reducing call sound leakage, and Honor Connect means your Magic V2 can seamlessly align with all Honor devices, from the Earbuds X5 to the MagicBook, Pad X9 and Watch 4.

The world is at your fingertips.

When it comes to the internal screen, a 7.92-inch OLED display is the multitasker’s dream with a split screen and third floating screen option for more immersive use.

Sure you could use it to catch up on your latest TV obsession in full-screen delight or you could be messaging friends, while checking the weather and videocalling mum without needing to flip chaotically through different tabs and apps.

Its dimming technology also adjusts the screen brightness to help swerve eye fatigue, plus the Circadian Rhythm Night Display softens screen light before bed, making it more natural for our eyes.

Because, hey, we may keep scrolling before bed, so we might as well make it easier on our senses.

Want to know its selfie power?

The rear of the phone – which comes in purple or black – boasts a 50 megapixel camera, while the front sports a respectable 16 megapixel camera.

Plus, the setup of the foldable allows the free hovering screen to capture every moment without you needing to awkwardly stretch out your arm, or ask a stranger to act as photographer. Win win!

With support for 5G, 4G+, 4G, 3G and 2G, this may be the most exciting phone launch of the year, so you know what to do.
