Man thinks he’s found the world’s largest chip in his McCain bag | UK News
A bricklayer reckons he discovered one of the world’s longest chips – in a frozen bag.
Nathan Hadley, 25, found the ‘beast’ of a chip in a frozen McCain bag earlier this month and immediately measured it.
Nathan, of Dudley, West Midlands, discovered the massive potato snack was 8.66 inches long – and a similar discovery was made by a nine year old just days before Nathan’s.
Archie Davies found a nine-inch chip on his dinner plate on January 19, meaning Nathan didn’t quite grab the title for longest frozen chip.
But Nathan is still chuffed: ‘I found it in a bag of frozen chips – I was amazed by the size of it and absolutely gobsmacked.
‘I looked at it and laughed, and just thought straight away – I’ve got to get the tape measure out, it’s a beast. I still have it – and will definitely be keeping it.’
Nathan said he considered sending the chip to Guinness World Records, but the company said they don’t monitor ‘large food items’.

The largest molded chip by weight was manufactured by Chandresh Bayad in Guajarat, India, and recorded by Guinness World Records in 2018 – weighing in at nearly 25 pounds.
Last month, a man claimed to have found the world’s largest Hula Hoop in a bag of the snack.
Measuring at 4.72 inches, the snack was discovered by Adam Potter, 28, who found massive salt and vinegar savoury snack while taking a break from work.
The crisp lover has even emailed KP Snacks to suggest they start selling ‘Hoola Tubes’ as they would be ‘perfect for dipping’.
Adam plans to keep the crisp in an air-tight container – and he’s since put it on eBay.
