Warning as Royal Mail set to deliver post only five days a week | UK News

A report said the postal service was ‘getting out of date’ and action needed to be taken.
Among the options on the table are cutting down the six-day a week deliveries of letters to five or even three.
For Royal Mail to spearhead with this change, the government would be forced to change the law – but this would save the service between £100 million and £650 million, the regulator said.
Ofcom is also considering slowing down letter deliveries, meaning that it would take three or more days for most letters to arrive, although next-day deliveries would still be available when required.
This could save the company between £150 million and £650 million.
