Men guilty of murdering two rappers in gang revenge attack | UK News

Four men have been found guilty of murdering rappers Saydi Abu Sheikh, 23, and Zakariya Jeilani Mohamed, 31.
The two men were massacred in a bedroom during a five-minute gang-related ‘revenge’ attack in Ilford, east London, around midnight on October 25, 2022.
Mr Sheikh was said to have been a key member of an Ilford gang called ‘Drillford’, while the defendants were linked to rival gang ‘Only Manor’ in Newham.
Defendant Zain Mirza, 21, is said to have ordered Chibiuke Ohanweh, 21, Ayaani Ali Adan, 20, Mahad Gouled, 22, and Zakarie Mohamed, 19, to carry out the attack.
Another defendant, Zain Mirza, had ‘procured’ the murders in revenge for the killing of his brother in 2019.
The two east London gangs had been engaged in serious violence for around five years before the killings.
The court heard Saydi Abu Sheikh had been stabbed 28 times and shot four times while Zakariya Jeilani Mohamed was stabbed five times and shot at least seven times.
A third man, Khalid Khalid, was shot through the head but survived along with two more men who ran or hid, jurors were told.
Five men were on trial accused of the double murder, two charges of attempted murder and perverting the course of justice by destroying the car.
The alleged attackers were caught on CCTV cameras outside the property, jurors at the Old Bailey heard, and had donned burkas to hide their identities when they set off for the attack from a ‘mission control’ flat a couple of miles away.
Survivor Ali Sheikh previously told police: ‘The males at the door then forced open the front door and fired two gunshots straight away.
‘I immediately turned to run away but one of the bullets grazed the top of my shoulder by my neck.’
Survivor Khalid Khalid was shot six times – one bullet entered the side of his face, passed through his head and exited beside his mouth, causing damage to parts of the skull, his brain, and his teeth.
Ohanweh, of Romford; Adan, of Barking; Gouled, of Enfield, and Mirza, of Newham, denied all the charges against them while Mohamad, of Kensington, admitted perverting the course of justice.
Judge Mark Lucraft KC remanded them into custody to be sentenced next Tuesday after they were found guilty.
