London police launch urgent appeal for missing Mitcham teenager | UK News
Concern is growing for a 16-year-old girl from London who vanished after leaving her home more than a week ago.
Julia Skala is thought to have headed out from her home in Mitcham, south-west London, at around 1pm on January 8.
At the time, she was wearing black trousers and a black North Face jacket.
She also had on white Nike trainers, and was carrying a black rucksack also made by Nike.
The teenager was reported missing the following morning, and an investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police.
Officers have spent the eight days since analysing CCTV from the area and knocking on doors to ask locals for help.
However, they have been unable to find any trace of her.
Superintendent Josh Laughton said Julia has links to Camden, Lambeth and Islington.

He said: ‘Julia’s family have told us it is unusual for her to be away from home for this long.
‘While there’s no evidence to suggest she has come to harm, we are growing increasingly concerned about her welfare.
‘We use a range of tactics to trace the movements of a missing person, however despite our enquiries, we still have no indication of where she is.’
He added: ‘It’s likely she would have travelled by public transport. I would ask anyone who thinks they may have seen her over the past week to come forward immediately.’
