Monday morning commuting hell after major Tube lines struck by delays | UK News
The Piccadilly, Jubilee, Bakerloo and Central lines – four of the most pivotal lines on the London Underground – have all been hit by severe delays this morning, leading to chaos on the Tube.
There are also minor delays reported on the Hammersmith & City and Victoria lines.
The Central, Piccadilly and Jubilee lines are all among top four busiest lines on the network.
Transport for London (TfL) has told travellers on the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines that tickets will also be accepted on DLR, Elizabeth Line, C2C, London Overground and local bus services.
Severe delays on the Bakerloo line are restricted to the section between Harrow and Wealdstone and Stonebridge Park due to an earlier faulty train at Stonebridge Park, and there is good service on the rest of the line.
The Jubilee and Piccadilly issues are both down to signal failures earlier this morning – in the Stratford area for Jubilee users, and at Earl’s Court station for those riding the Piccadilly.
On the Central line, the delays are simply caused by a shortage of trains.
Severe delays were also reported on the Victoria line earlier this morning due to a faulty train at Seven Sisters, but the status has since improved.
