Escort said ‘that’s one off the bucket list’ after removing man’s penis | UK News

A court has heard how a sex worker removed the penis of another man on film before exclaiming: ‘Well, that’s one off the bucket list.’

Damien Byrnes, a 36-year-old escort from Tottenham, north London, had previously admitted to using a knife to remove 46-year-old Marius Gustavson’s penis in February 2017. 

The case, currently being heard at the Old Bailey, concerns an extreme body modifications group of which Gustavson was the ringleader, which posted videos of the procedures on a pay-per-view ‘eunuch maker’ website. 

Byrnes and two other men, having already pleaded guilty to causing Gustavson grievous bodily harm with intent, appeared at the court for sentencing on Friday. 

Jacob Crimi-Appleby, 23, admitted to freezing Gustavson’s leg in February 2019, which later resulted in its needing to be amputated, while Nathan Arnold, a 48-year-old nurse, admitted removing part of Gustavson’s nipple in mid-2019. 

Caroline Carberry KC, prosecuting, said they were among 10 people charged with taking part in the group’s activities. 

She added messages between the men, dating back more than four years, had been retrieved from Gustavson’s mobile. 

The exchanges show how Gustavson initially hired Byrnes for sexual services before introducing him to the ‘eunuch maker’ website.

By December 2016, Byrnes had ‘readily agreed’ to remove Gustavson’s genitals for just £500 in full knowledge that footage of the procedure would be published online. 

Messages between the two men are understood to have shown how Byrnes told Gustavson: ‘I have no issue with it but won’t you loose (sic) a lot of blood, like nearly die.’

Gustavson is then reported to have reassured Byrnes, explaining he would anaesthetise himself and give Byrnes full instructions on how to carry out the procedure. 

Byrnes then responded by saying he was ‘actually kinda turned on a bit’ but expressed reservations about getting in ‘trouble.’

Later, when Gustavson appeared to reduce the amount of money he was willing to pay, Byrnes then said: ‘I’ve had enough man. I’m cutting your cock and balls off for 50 shitty quid when I was led to believe it’s 500.’

Further messages from just two days before the incident took place reveal how Gustavson told Byrnes another person would be present as a ‘sexy, kinky helper’, further boasting he had already ‘done over 26 guys in total, 18 totally done.’

The court was not shown footage of Gustavson’s subsequent mutilation, with Ms Carberry instead describing its graphic content. 

She is understood to have explained how the film shows a shaking Gustavson strapped naked to a bed pleading ‘no, no’, which the prosecutors suggested may have been part of an ‘act.’

He later called emergency services, telling the operator: ‘I tried to do some surgery on my cock.’

Gustavson was subsequently taken in for medical treatment. The hospital discharged him several days later, but not without referring him to a psychiatric unit for assessment.
