British woman dies onboard TUI flight after becoming ‘seriously ill’ mid-flight | UK News
A British passenger has died on a TUI flight to Glasgow after being taken ill mid-air.
The unnamed woman suffered cardiac arrest on flight BY1573, which reported an emergency Squawk 7700 signal after leaving Tenerife Airport at 5.30pm yesterday.
It was diverted to Funchal Airport on the island of Madeira and landed around 6.40 pm.
Sadly the woman could not be saved despite emergency crews meeting airline staff at the scene.
TUI has been contacted for comment.
