Serial sex killer who was ‘cured’ is accused of killing two escorts | World News
A convicted serial sex killer has been detained in Russia after the bodies of two escorts were found.
Reports say one of the women’s heads was severed in a grim attempted beheading.
Alexei Varakin, 37, had recently been released after he was locked up in 2010 for the murder of two prostitutes.
He has now been detained in connection with these two latest deaths.
Law enforcement says he killed the two latest escorts after he ‘was unable to have sexual intercourse with them’ which made him furious, according to Russian news outlet Shot.
Police say the beheaded remains of Olga Vorobyova, 40, were found near a hotel where they allegedly met in Moscow district Izmailovo.
A day later he is then accused of murdering Vlada Skitskaya, 25, in her rented flat in the Moscow City business district.
Further reports say the second woman managed to call someone during the attack and said a client was trying to kill her.
Cries for help were also heard by neighbours in the same building.
Varakin was seen in a court video where he was remanded in custody for two months.
In the court he confessed to the two latest killings, according to reports.
The suspect was said to have been ‘cured’ after he was sentenced to psychiatric hospital following the murder of the original two sex workers, the court was told.
