Family given turkey dinosaurs instead of turkey by Morrisons | UK News

The small turkey joint was replaced by some turkey dinosaurs instead

A family’s Christmas dinner was ruined because Morrisons replaced their turkey joint with some turkey dinosaurs instead.

Cassie Rule, 34, from Malvern in Worcestershire, was planning to feed six people on the big day.

But when her online delivery arrived on Christmas Eve she realised the £4.50 turkey had been replaced by £2.30 turkey dinosaurs.

The beauty therapist said Morrisons ruined her Christmas dinner and claims she ordered a £37 Oakham turkey from the supermarket, a turkey Morrisons does not sell.

She told The Sun: ‘We’re going to have to eat that is all we have now.

‘I can’t spend Christmas Eve rushing around to find another Turkey. It’s too late.

‘It just won’t be the same without a proper turkey.’

A Morrisons spokesperson told Metro: ‘We can see that a small turkey joint costing £4.50 had been ordered by the customer and it was unfortunately unavailable for delivery on Saturday December 23 and for this we apologise.

‘We have no record of a large turkey being ordered by this customer and we do not sell Oakham turkeys.

‘We are in touch with the customer directly to clarify the misunderstanding.’

Another family had Christmas dinner ruined after Sainsbury’s cancelled their Christmas Eve turkey delivery.

The ham joint they ordered for Boxing Day was also not in stock and was instead replaced with eight ham sandwich slices and both orders were placed on December 3.

Some other shopper found ‘mouldy turkeys’ and hit out at supermarkets on social media for ‘ruining Christmas’.

The turkeys were bought from supermarkets like Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Aldi, with many saying their turkeys were ‘slimy’ and ‘rancid’.
