Mom-to-be killed heading to family to reveal pregnancy over Christmas | US News
A mother-to-be and her unborn son were killed in a car crash while traveling to family for Christmas and to share the news of her pregnancy.
Chloe Stott, 24, and her husband Parker were traveling from Utah to Arizona on Wednesday to spend the holiday with their families.
‘They had just found out they were pregnant with a baby and were so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones over Christmas,’ states a GoFundMe page for them.
‘They were involved in a tragic car accident that took the life of Chloe and their precious baby boy.’
The crash happened at 8.18pm on southbound US 93 in Wickenburg, which is about 60 miles northwest of Phoenix, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia told KSLTV.
A Toyota Tundra pickup truck was attempting to pass vehicles going southbound where it was legal to do so but ‘failed to complete the pass and collided head-on with a white Volvo commercial truck tractor pulling a trailer loaded with home goods’, Garcia said.
The female in the passenger’s seat of the pickup truck died from the crash. The male driver was hospitalized with burns and in critical condition.
Parker was airlifted to the Arizona Burn Center and is ‘under intense care to save his life’, states the GoFundMe page.
The driver of the commercial truck was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The road was closed for more than six hours after following the crash.
Chloe was the CEO of the Clover Skin Bar skincare boutique in Lindon, Utah, according to her Instagram page.
Hours before the crash, Chloe posted pictures of her and her husband holding hands and kissing with the caption: ‘You n Me forever Parker.’
The GoFundMe page ‘to provide the necessary financial support for a young family whose lives changed in the blink of an eye’ had raised more than $121,000 as of Friday afternoon.
Chloe’s death happened a year after a young football star died while driving from Kansas through a snowstorm in Colorado to spend Christmas with his family in California.
