Supermarkets have recalled a number of favourite items containing beans over fears there are small rubber balls inside them.
The Prince’s Group, which is one of the largest suppliers of food products, has been forced to take household staples off the shelves after they were declared ‘unfit for human consumption’.
Asda’s tin of baked beans in tomato sauce and their mixed bean salad have been taken off the shelves after they were declared ‘unfit for consumption’.
Tesco has also recalled their tin of baked beans and pork sausages in tomato sauce and their mixed bean salad in vinaigrette.
Sainsbury’s tin of of baked beans and pork sausages in tomato sauce may also have rubber balls inside them.
Branston branded baked beans in tomato sauce have also been taken off the shelves.
Tesco were also forced to recall a Christmas dinner favourite this week, over fears it might have moths inside.
The chain’s ‘Finest’ Apple & Cranberry Stuffing Mix may be a staple in some roast dinners – especially now, with the holidays approaching – but it has been declared ‘unfit for human consumption’.
The vegetarian product will be taken off the shelves due to the ‘possible presence’ of the insects.
An alert on the Food Standards Agency website calls for the return of the 130g tubs of the mix, which has an expiry date of September 2024.
