A man allegedly decapitated his mother and was found naked lying on top her body and screaming he was sorry.

Jeffrey D Surgent, 46, called 911 on Friday afternoon to report he ‘had just killed his mother’, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by NJ.com.

Cops who arrived at 6th Street in Ocean City, New Jersey, found him in a hallway outside his apartment lying on a beheaded body that was identified as his mom, Alexandri M Surgent, 74, states the affidavit.

Alexandri’s head was a few feet away in the hallway.

She was ‘the greatest grandmother in the world’, wrote Chase Surgent in a GoFundMe page for her funeral expenses.

Security camera footage showed Alexandri’s head being thrown out of the apartment, said police.

‘A short time later, Jeffrey Surgent is seen peeking out from the apartment, then pulling his mother’s body into the hallway,’ states the affidavit. ‘He is nude and proceeds to lay on top of her until patrol arrives.’

While being arrested, Jeffrey screamed multiple times that he had killed his mom and was sorry. He also began singing Jesus Loves Me, the affidavit says.

Detectives found a weapon and a cell phone at the crime scene.

Jeffrey has been charged with first-degree murder, refusal to submit to fingerprinting and weapons offenses.

He told cops that he suffered from mental health issues, which the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed. Jeffrey had bipolar disorder, The Press of Atlantic City reported.

Jeffrey was taken to a medical facility and then to Cape May County Jail where he was being held as of Tuesday. No lawyer was immediately listed for him.

Alexandri, of Central Avenue in Ocean City, ‘lived with us and helped us with our day-to-day lives’, wrote Chase.

‘Without her, we can’t afford rent or food and we cannot pay for her burial or cremation,’ Chase said.

The GoFundMe page had raised more than $4,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Alexandri’s gruesome murder happened six months after another man with mental illness allegedly drowned his mother in a river in Connecticut claiming he was sacrificing her to keep demons away.
