Omid Scobie’s new Endgame book branded ‘vicious’ and ‘plain nasty’ | UK News

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie’s new book ‘Endgame’ has sparked a firestorm for the Royal Family.
Scobie branded the Princess of Wales as ‘cold’ and slammed the firm for ignoring Harry and Meghan’s ‘cries for help’ in his latest book.
The book also suggests that King Charles and his son Prince William have been locked in a ‘struggle’ over the future of the monarchy.
Scobie has long been a journalist close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan.
But Scobie’s latest book has received scathing reviews, including from the New York Times, which said: ‘a chapter reads like a press release cooked up by ChatGPT, and does little to shed light on them (The Sussexes) as humans’.
In one chapter, Scobie dubbed the Princess of Wales ‘Katie Keen’ because the late Queen allegedly liked her because she was ‘coachable’, unlike Princess Diana.
The book also claims senior royals ‘turned a blind eye’ to aides leaking details about Harry and Meghan, and subjected them to ‘institutional cruelty’.
King Charles was also slammed for allegedly hesitating in taking away Prince Andrew’s privileges after his scandal.
Scobie said Prince William stepped in to help sway his father to make a decision about disgraced Prince Andrew.
The ‘vicious’ and ‘nasty’ book also focuses on the ‘endgame’ of the Royal Family – of which Scobie said: ‘the once-majestic brocade of the royal family continued to fade and fray’.
Meghan and Harry are minimally criticised in the book, with Scobie coming to their defense multiple times.
He said: ‘At the very least the institution ignored Meghan when she was in pain. It’s a dismal record, and with William now openly claiming his mother was essentially too paranoid to speak the truth, it proves the institution still operates under the principle that women not born into the family are, ultimately, disposable.’
Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have both remained silent since the book’s release.
