Melania Trump made a rare appearance and assumed her role in the former first ladies club at Rosalynn Carter’s tribute service without her husband.

Ex-President Donald Trump’s wife lead fellow former first ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton into Glenn Memorial Church on Tuesday afternoon to honor Carter, who died at the age of 96.

The former first ladies entered the church in reverse chronological order of their husbands’ presidential terms.

Melania wore a long gray coat, while Michelle wore an all-black suit, Laura wore a long sleeve black dress with pearls and Hillary wore an all-black suit with light-colored buttons.

They took their seats in the front row for the tribute service. Melania sat on the far left of the row, next to Obama, followed by Laura, Hillary and ex-President Bill Clinton, and then First Lady Jill Biden and President Joe Biden. Former President Jimmy Carter, 99, in a wheeled chair-bed, was at the other end of the row.

Donald Trump and fellow former Presidents Barack Obama and George W Bush did not attend Carter’s tribute service.

The former first ladies rode with the Bidens on Air Force One to the church in Atlanta.
