Man hospitalised after Christmas Wonderland ride ‘went wrong’ | UK News
An incident at a Christmas Wonderland fair left a man needing urgent hospital treatment, it has been reported.
An air ambulance was scrambled to the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex along with two other teams of paramedics on Saturday.
A witness told EssexLive one of the fair rides ‘seemed to go wrong’ and started making ‘really weird noises’.
Security staff then prevented anyone from entering the fair, which reopened as usual on Sunday.
Details of the incident could not immediately be confirmed.
The East of England Ambulance Trust said in a statement: ‘We attended the scene with two ambulances, air ambulance and two rapid response vehicles. A patient was transported to the Royal London Hospital.’
Essex Police confirmed that its officers attended the scene.
Organisers of the fair and the shopping centre were contacted for information.
