Donald Trump Jr admits ‘rough day’ testifying in court after aunt dies | US News

Donald Trump Jr addressed his aunt Maryanne Trump Barry’s death after returning to the witness stand in the New York civil fraud trial on Monday.
‘Yeah, obviously a little bit of a rough day, but I still got to deal with this stuff,’ he told reporters outside New York Supreme Court in the afternoon.
‘So you got to keep doing it. That’s the nature of all of this, but no, it’s a rough day for myself and my family.’
Trump Jr said he is ‘very close with her grandson’ and that they ‘hang out all the time’.
He said found out about Barry’s death literally as he pulled up to the courthouse in the morning.
‘Not a great swing thought, you know, the back of your head as you’re going to deal with this sort of insanity,’ he said.
Trump Jr added that ‘unfortunately it is what it is’, that his family will face ‘another nonsense, another lawsuit’ from opponents ‘ This is what it’s become right every day, there’s going to be another nonsense ‘because that’s where we’ve gotten in a politicized country’.
‘So it’s a shame and you know, we will deal with that accordingly,’ he concluded.
Barry, 86, was found dead in her Upper East Side home in Manhattan early Monday and her cause of death was not immediately known. A former federal appellate judge, Barry supported the ex-president but also criticized him, as revealed by secret audio recordings by their niece Mary Trump.
