Man’s body pulled from river after reports of person in water | UK News

A man’s body has been recovered from the River Loddon in Reading, prompting a police investigation.

Officers were called to the scene, close to Thistleton Way in the Berkshire town’s Earley area, at 10.38am yesterday.

The fire and ambulance services also attended after a member of the public had reported seeing a person in the water.

Thames Valley Police said the death of the man was unexplained, but was not believed to be suspicious.

His next of kin has been informed.

A spokesperson for the force said on Saturday: ‘Thames Valley Police were called to the River Loddon off Thistleton Way at 10.38am today to reports of a body in the river.

‘Sadly, a man’s body was recovered from the water. The force is investigating an unexplained death, which is not believed to be suspicious.’

A post-mortem examination is to take place in due course.
