Woman’s body found inside wheelie bin in north London | UK News

A woman has been found dead inside a wheelie bin near a block of flats in north London.
The body was discovered by a member of the public at around 9am on Thursday near Golders Green.
Police and paramedics were called to the Harpenmead Point building in Granville Road but she was confirmed dead at the scene.
Her death is being treated as ‘unexpected and unexplained’, Scotland Yard said, and an investigation is ongoing.
One onlooker said the woman’s body was found in communal bins with a rucksack laying nearby.
A passer-by said: ‘There was a body found in a recycling bin.
‘The police were there checking life vitals and there was a backpack next to the bin with personal items in.’
Pictures show officers standing in the taped off bin store area and a pink rucksack can be seen on top of one of the bins.
A wider cordon has been put in place following the incident.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Officers were called at 08:59hrs on Thursday, 9 November to a premises on Granville Road, NW2.
‘A member of the public had reported finding the body of a woman.
‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.
‘The woman was confirmed to be deceased. A crime scene is in place.
‘The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained. Enquiries continue.’
