Man arrested after 22-year-old pedestrian killed in city centre crash | UK News

A man has been arrested after a 22-year-old woman was killed in a crash near Bradford city centre.

Police were called to the scene on Hamm Strasse in the West Yorkshire city at 4.37pm yesterday, after a blue BMW hit the pedestrian.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later.

The scene of the crash, near the busy junction with Manningham Road, was closed off by investigators.

Police confirmed the man who was driving the BMW 320D M sport was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Detective Sergeant Mick Kilburn of West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) said: ‘We are continuing to investigate this very serious collision in which a young woman has tragically lost her life.

‘I would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of the collision, or the BMW just prior to it.’
