A teenage girl who walked into a police station after going missing for four years has finally reunited with her family.

Alicia Navarro, who ran away from home when she was 14, is back with her mother Jessica Nunez, a family representative told Fox 10 on Wednesday.

It will be the first Thanksgiving and Christmas that Alicia, now 19, spends with loved ones since leaving a note for her parents at their Glendale, Arizona, home on September 15, 2019, stating: ‘I ranaway. I will be back, I swear. I’m sorry.’

Alicia faces challenges ahead including continued medical care and returning to school after not attending since her disappearance, the family representative said.

Her family no longer resides in Arizona, the representative added.

Alicia’s whereabouts were a mystery until she walked into a police station 1,000 miles away in Havre, Montana, on July 23, to take herself off the missing persons list. Police said Alicia was safe and shared a video of her speaking with them.

Her mother quickly thanked the public for their help and concern. But she also said their family faced death threats as Alicia’s case gained national attention and questions loomed, like whether the ‘highly-functioning’ autistic teen had been groomed and lured by an online predator possibly for human trafficking.

At the time, it was not clear if Alicia had reunited with her family

On Wednesday, Nunez shared on the Facebook page Finding Alicia that she would be shuttering the online forum.

‘I thank you all for all the support… My family is complete,’ wrote Nunez.

‘We need to heal and for that to be possible I will ask privacy… I thank everyone for all the concerns and support… god is a miracle worker.’

News of Alicia reuniting with her family comes just over a week after the teen’s alleged boyfriend, Edmund Davis, 36, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of sexual abuse of children resulting from pornography that was found in his cell phone. While not confirmed to have been Alicia’s boyfriend, Davis is linked to her case.
