Touching moment drone reunites missing blind dog with its owner | UK News
A video has captured the adorable moment a missing blind dog was reunited with her owner thanks to a drone.
Molly’s owner had spent three days looking for the 11-year-old Labrador and feared she may have died.
In the end he decided to call Drone to Home, a charity that uses drones to find missing animals.
Incredibly, the team located Molly in Tissington, Derbyshire within just two hours of the call and the delighted owner drove to pick her up.
The drone stayed focused on the dog until he arrived so the adorable moment when the pair reunited was caught on its camera.
Drone to Home CEO Phil James said: ‘I don’t get emotional very often but the lab did bring a tear to my eye I must admit. I’m so happy for the owners to see them overjoyed.’
Phil, also chief drone operator and instructor for the charity, began his mission to reunite owners and animals in 2019 with just himself and one drone.
He originally self-funded the company, until registering it as a charity in April last year.
Phil added: ‘To date we have reunited 2,487 dogs, three ponies, an emu, skunk and nine cows.
‘We receive on average about 40 calls and messages a day through our virtual call centre and we have 11 trained volunteers that answer the phones.’
‘We all love what we do and have the best job in the world.’

Earlier this year a dog that had been missing for eight months was reunited with its owner after she was found in an ambulance 50 miles away from home.
Emma Darling, from Powys in Wales, couldn’t quite believe it when Jazz the cocker spaniel was discovered by paramedics in Wolverhampton.
They took her to the vets who scanned her microchip and got in touch with Emma.
