West Midlands Police is hunting a man on suspicion of burglary – but the suspect doesn’t seem too worried about it.

Officers are hunting Abdul Holden, 19, in connection with a break-in in Hall Green, Birmingham in August.

The force shared Holden’s mugshot on social media as part of an appeal to find him – but this is no ordinary picture.

He’s been dubbed ‘Britain’s happiest suspect’ thanks to his beaming picture with a full grin looking straight into the camera.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘Have you seen Abdul Holden?

‘The 19-year-old is wanted on suspicion of burglary in Hall Green in August.

‘He speaks with an American accent and anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote 20/725216/23.’

A number of people commented on the force’s appeal with Ben Cooke saying: ‘Is this Britain’s happiest suspect or what. I’ve never seen a bloke so chuffed to be in custody, lol.’

Shane Pallister added: ‘That’s the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. Like a Cheshire cat. I know he’s a wanted man, but you can’t help but kind of love him.’

Shanee Balfour wrote: ‘It’s the smile for me like he proud of what he’s done honestly can’t stop laughing.’

Others urged cops to ‘wipe the smile off his face’ with Lee Kneller saying: ‘He looks happy… won’t be very happy when they catch up with you.’

David Mally commented: ‘When you find him wipe the smile off his face.’
