Israel-Palestine latest: ‘We are at war’ says Netanyahu after Gaza Strip attack | World News

At least 40 people have been killed and 740 have been injured after Palestinian militants have launched an unprecedented attack on Israel.
Gunmen from the Islamist group Hamas infiltrated the Gaza Strip, to the south of the country, on Saturday morning and intense fighting has broken out following a barrage of rocket attacks.
The elusive leader of Hamas’ military wing, Mohammed Deif, announced the beginning of what he called ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Storm’.
‘Enough is enough,’ he said in a recorded message, and claimed more than 5,000 rockets had been launched into Israel as he called on Palestinians to join the fight.
