McDonald’s customer ‘douses manager with hot coffee over a penny’ | US News

A man ordering through a McDonald’s drive-thru allegedly splashed the manager with hot coffee after arguing over a penny.
Elizar Ravelo, 64, was known as a regular at the fast food chain’s location in Miami Springs, Florida, and would order a Sausage McMuffin with a separate round egg and a senior coffee, shift manager Nayib Garcia told Local 10 News.
But on a recent visit to the restaurant at 4999 NW 36th St, he was not happy.
Surveillance footage captured Ravelo getting into an argument with a store manager. When the manager handed Ravelo a cup of hot coffee, he slapped the drink away and drove off.
‘I think it hit her in the face, and then on the rest of the arm,’ said Garcia.
‘Most of the burn was on the arm.’
Ravelo’s meltdown was over the smallest monetary amount.
‘What the rest of the crew told me, it was over a penny,’ Garcia said.
