Man stabbed to death and another fighting for life after ‘fight’ | UK News
A man has been stabbed to death and another is fighting for their life after a triple stabbing in Halifax, county police have said.
Police were called to Commercial Street in the West Yorkshire town in the early hours this morning.
Officers were told ‘three men had been assaulted’ at 3.48am.
All three men were taken to hospital with stab wounds but one died later in hospital.
Another victim was described by police as being in ‘critical condition’ and a third received treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.
West Yorkshire Police added in a statement: ‘There is a significant police scene in place in the town centre while police conduct specialist searches and forensic enquiries.
‘The public and local businesses are thanked for their patience at this time.
‘The investigation is in its very early stages and further information will be released in due course.’
Social media photographs from the scene show Commercial Street, which is lined by banks and pubs, cordoned off with police tape.
Holly Lynch, Labour MP for Halifax, posted on X: ‘Just awful news overnight.
‘Thinking of those directly affected and the emergency services on the scene and providing care.’
