Center Parcs death: Staff member named and pictured | UK News
A woman who died at a Center Parcs resort and was a member of staff has been named and pictured.
Penny Bulpitt, who was in her 60s, died after being hit by a car in Woburn Forest, in Bedfordshire, on Friday.
Family members have paid tribute to her as the ‘backbone of our family’ and a ‘fantastic mum and grandmother’.
‘It’s such a horrible shock and heartbreak to us as Nan is the backbone of our family,’ a family tribute posted online said.
The incident is believed to have taken place in the company’s site parking area and police are carrying out an investigation.
Ms Bulpitt died in hospital after emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a vehicle and staff member.
Her sister-in-law Anna Northwood told The Sun: ‘She was a fantastic mum and grandmother. We’ll certainly miss her.’
A spokesperson for Center Parcs told Metro: ‘We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our team at Woburn Forest, our thoughts are with her family, friends and her colleagues at this time.
‘We are in contact with her family, and we are offering support to them and any of our colleagues at Woburn Forest who have been affected.
‘Center Parcs is working closely with all the relevant authorities following this incident.’
Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler said: ‘We are investigating a reported collision between a vehicle and a member of staff at Center Parcs Woburn Forest on Friday, September 22.
‘The member of staff was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died later that day. Our thoughts remain with her family.
‘Anyone with any information about the collision is asked to contact us via the Bedfordshire Police website or call 101, quoting Operation Latymer.’
A woman in her 30s died at the Center Parcs Elveden Forest in Suffolk in June following an ‘unexplained’ medical incident.
