Sheffield stabbing: Man charged with attempted murder after boy found with stab wounds | UK News

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a boy was stabbed in Sheffield city centre.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a stabbing Near the Town Hall, at Norfolk Street, on Tuesday afternoon.

Medics found the 14-year-old with serious wounds to his chest, and he was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

South Yorkshire Police arrested a man on Friday and charged him with attempted murder the following day.

A statement from the force said: ‘John Jubb, 48, was arrested on Friday and then charged with attempted murder yesterday.

‘The investigation began after we were called to Norfolk Street on Tuesday after reports that a 14-year-old boy required medical assistance.

‘Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital with wounds to his chest. His injuries are serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.’

Jubb, of Wincobank Avenue, is due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He will remain in custody until the court appearance.
