Woman in her twenties ‘raped on Croydon roundabout in broad daylight’ | UK News
A woman in her twenties has allegedly been raped on a roundabout in Croydon, with police putting out an appeal for witnesses.
Officers were called to Mitcham town centre at 2pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a rape.
However, they later moved their investigation to a busy roundabout off Park Lane in nearby Croydon.
No arrests have been made, and the Metropolitan Police said the woman is being supported.
A spokesperson for the force said: ‘Police were called to Mitcham town centre at 14.00hrs on Tuesday, 12 September to a reports of a rape of a woman.
‘Officers attended. It was reported the rape of the woman, aged in her 20s, took place on a roundabout off Park Lane, Croydon.
‘The woman is being supported by specialist officers.
‘There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.’
