Police hope tracking down Alfa Romeo will help solve fatal shooting | UK News
Authorities have renewed an appeal for information exactly twelve months after a popular drill rapper was killed in West London.
Officers were called to Kensington High Street at about 2am on September 4, 2022, after residents reported hearing multiple shots which sounded like fireworks.
They found at the scene Maximillian Kusi Owusu, a 29-year-old father-of-one, and provided him with first aid before taking him to hospital.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at 5.30am that morning, with cause of death subsequently confirmed as a gunshot wound.
Today, officers relaunched their appeal to the public about the course of events that evening – in particular, any information that may pertain to ‘a silver Alfa Romeo Stelvio seen in the area of Radnor Terrace at that time’.
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Bolan of the Metropolitan Police said: ‘We are determined to find whoever is responsible for this tragic incident.
‘While we have carried out an extensive investigation, including a thorough review of local CCTV, we still require your help.’
He went on: ‘It has been a year since Maximillian was killed and his family are still without the answers they need. I am asking for your help to identify who fired that fatal shot.
‘I am certain that someone has the information that will allow us to make arrests.’
Mr Kusi-Owusu, who performed under the moniker M Lo, is said to have been ‘unchanged by fame’ despite his musical success.
A friend told The Evening Standard soon after the killing last year: ‘Fame never changed Max. He’s a very straightforward, energetic and down-to-earth person.
‘He was extremely talented musically. I’m sure his music will live on for as long as we are here.’
They added: ‘He knows nothing else other than to look out for his friends and family and most importantly his daughter, who we would do anything in this world for.’
A 29-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of murder but was subsequently released under investigation.
