Huddersfield: First picture of boy, 7, killed after being hit by BMW | UK News

A seven-year-old boy who was tragically hit and killed by a BMW has been named and pictured for the first time.
Jack Rooke died after he was struck by a car in Golcar, near Huddersfield, at around 6pm on Wednesday.
The youngster, from the local area, was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the incident in Longfield Avenue but sadly could not be saved.
A man in his 30s who was driving a black BMW X4 when it was involved in the collision with the young child has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He remains in custody.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘Officers continue to support Jack’s parents and also continue to request their privacy is respected at what is clearly a dreadful time.’
Investigations are being carried out by the force’s major collision enquiry team.
