Yevgeny Prigozhin laughs about going to hell one day in eerie clip | World News
A resurfaced clip of warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin has shown him grinning and saying he would ‘go to hell’ after his death.
After spending much of his youth behind bars, he ended up leading thousands of recruited prisoners in his now-notorious private army, the Wagner Group.
He is known for his fiery words, saying things like ‘a dog receives a dog’s death’ in response to the sledgehammer execution of a deserter.
And of course, he led an attempted coup against one of the world’s most powerful dictators, Vladimir Putin, in June.
So while no one was expecting the likes of this man to have timid feelings about death, his comments still manage to be extremely disturbing.
‘We will all go to hell, but we will be the best in hell,’ he says as he smiles in an old interview.
Dmitry Utkin, the Wagner Group’s co-founder and Prigozhin’s ‘right-hand man’, responds with ‘absolutely’ before they erupt into laughter.
‘Death is not the end, it’s just the beginning of something else,’ Utkin also says.
The undated video was published by Grey Zone Telegram channel which hailed Prigozhin as a hero and called those who supposedly killed him ‘trators to Russia’.
Prigozhin’s remarks about hell ‘sum him up’, the channel said on Wedneday.
The mercenary chief is believed to have died after his private jet crashed near the village of Kuzhenkino in the Tver region on Tuesday night.
Speculation has been swirling over whether or not the warlord was actually on the plane, which was travelling from Moscow to St Petersburg.
Soon after the crash, a second jet owned by Prigozhin that originally appeared to also be heading for St Petersburg, according to flight tracking data, landed at Ostafyevo airport near Moscow.
This has ignited theories that Prigozhin could still be alive and ‘faking his death’ as he has done once before in 2019.
Others believe Putin is behind the attack, as revenge for the rebellion which, despite failing, posed the most serious threat Putin’s 23-year rule has ever seen.

Wagner fighters have warned their boss ‘better be alive’ or they will launch a second ‘march of justice’ on Moscow.
A translation of an address by the paramilitary group last night read: ‘There are rumours about the death of the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin.
‘We directly say that we suspect the Kremlin officials led by Putin of an attempt to kill him.
‘If the information about Prigozhin’s death is confirmed, we will organise a second “March of Justice” on Moscow! He’d better be alive, it’s in your own interests….’
Prigozhin’s phone has reportedly been found at the scene of the crash, a source in the Wagner PMC told Al Jazeera.
But his body has still not been identified – nor has his death been officially verified.
Crash investigators have been combing through the wreckage of the jet throughout the day and a criminal probe has been opened.
