The events of the 2019 London Bridge terror attack are being remembered in a new documentary, London Bridge: Facing Terror.

Airing at 9pm tonight (August 24), the Channel 4 programme will look back at the horror stabbing which killed two people, Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones, and injured three more.

Mr Merritt, 25, and Ms Jones, 23, were at the nearby Fishmongers’ Hall for a prisoner rehabilitation event run by Cambridge University, working as a co-ordinator and volunteer respectively.

The programme will share the stories of three men who played a role in stopping the attacker.

The London Bridge terror attack at Fishmongers’ Hall took place on November 29, 2019.

The attacker – convicted terrorist Usman Khan – had been released from prison on in licence in December 2018, after serving part of his jail sentence.

He was attending the event at Fishmongers Hall as a guest, and was reportedly present at the morning session.

It was just before 2pm that Khan – described as wearing a fake suicide vest and carrying two knives – reportedly threatened to blow up the building.

He stabbed five people in total, including the fatal stabbings of Mr Merritt and Ms Jones.

Attendees and members of the public attempted to stop Khan in the Hall and as he ran out on London Bridge.

Among them was kitchen porter Lukasz Koczocik, who was said to be injured after fighting off Khan, and Ministry of Justice worker Darryn Frost, who used a narwhal tusk from the hall in a bid to stop the attacker.

Several former offenders who were at the prisoner rehabilitation conference – including John Crilly and Steven Gallant – were also involved in tackling and fighting off Khan.

Khan was ultimately shot dead by police.
