If you have an iPhone 8 or X, it might be time for an upgrade as Apple will not support the upcoming iOS 17 update.

These models were released in 2017, and Apple typically stops supporting older iPhone models after six years.

The decision not to support the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X with iOS 17 is likely because these models are no longer powerful enough to run the latest software.

The new iOS 17 update will include a number of new features that require more processing power than these older devices were designed for.

Owners of these phones won’t be able to get the latest software updates or features.

These models will also miss out on all new security updates leaving them more vulnerable to threats such as malware and viruses.

While your phone might be working perfectly fine, users need to be aware of the security risks associated with using older devices.

The new iOS 17 is expected to be released in mid-September 2023. This is typically when Apple releases new software updates for its iPhones.

Apple has not officially announced the release date of iOS 17, but it is likely to accompany the new iPhone 15 lineup.

If you are concerned about the security of your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or iPhone X, now’s the time to consider upgrading to a newer model.
