Udder chaos as milk tanker overturns on road | UK News

A motorway was thrown into udder chaos last night after a tanker of milk tipped over.
The lorry carrying the gallons of milk was driving along the A303 that runs through Basingstoke in Hampshire and Honiton in Devon last night.
But as it turned the Southfields roundabout it overturned, sending out a wave of milk – but no cookies in sight, alas.
The road in Horton Cross, Ilminster, was briefly closed as road police and fire officers attended the scene.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service had to use specialist equipment to patch up the like after the milk drenched the road.
Officers feared that the milk may enter nearby drains and contaminate the ground and drainage systems.
Environmental protection officers were phoned in to help, the authorities said, as they mopped up the milk while another lorry was brought to decant the milk into.
No one cried – or was injured – over the spilt milk, the cross-county road police said.
‘Last night the A358 at Southfields RAB had to be closed whilst recovery agents worked to get this milk tanker back on all four wheels after it overturned,’ the Roads Policing and Road Safety Teams of Avon and Somerset Police posted on Twitter/X.
‘Thankfully, no one [was] injured. Sorry for any delays to drivers whilst the road was closed.’
